“You dont think much of your father do you?” he cocked his head to one side, a slight frown on his face. To him, family was important, speaking ill of them made him uncomfortable. “why?” He glanced along the small street, the shops owned by local businesses and the casually dressed muggles who all seemed to know each other. It was lovely.
“Oh, no don’t get me wrong, I love my father, it’s just, since mum died, he’s been different; much angrier. I mean, it will pass soon enough, but I just miss the way things were. They will never be that same way again, but…I don’t even know what I am saying,” she said with a laugh, covering her mouth with her hand.
Ben nodded, squeezing her hand gently. “It will get better…it always does. You just need someone to be there..” he blushed, looking down at her, as always, marvelling at her beauty, her eyes and that smile… “You’ll be ok.”

He nodded, “That sounds good, as long as your dad doesn’t decide to beat me for uhm.. taking his daughter or whatever.” he reddened, a little nervous. New places always took adjusting to. He glanced around the small town and cocked his head to one side. “Have you always lived here?”
“He won’t, he probably couldn’t care less to be honest. He’s got 2 more he could use to clean his house, he may even point at the door and say ‘take her, run’ or he could tell you to run for your life because I’m crazy” she said with a laugh. “Don’t be nervous,” she said as she squeezed his hand. “Trust me; nothing in this town is worth being nervous over. Unless, you’re afraid of absolutely nothing at all, then you should be afraid,” she paused for a moment, to just smile; the way things had been was finally coming back to her now. “Yep, I’ve lived in this tiny little town my entire life. It’s been the same since the day I was born, I could tell you stories about each family living on this street.” she added with a laugh.

He grinned. “Great. Let’s go on a walk. It’s a nice day, we should find a river or something to sit by, maybe a swim…?” He brushed her hair back off her face, feeling overly confident for some reason. “I’ve missed your smile.”
She crinkled her nose as he brushed the hair from her face. “Alright. There’s a river that runs behind my house, we can go take a walk there, it isn’t far; it’s only about half a mile from here.” She said with a laugh. “A swim? Do you even have a suit with you?” she asked with a wide grin.
“Sounds great,” he smiled, slipping his hand into hers and sighing happily. “No..but I can just dry them, I’m seventeen now, ” he grinned smugly, following her as she started to walk. “can we go visit your family after? I’d like to meet them…” He wondered how she was doing over her mother’s death, but didnt bring it up in case it upset her, There would be time to talk later..
“That’s true,” she said with a smile. “Uh, sure. You can meet my family. They’re a little odd, but they’ve wanted to meet you. I…I don’t know if my dad will be there, he’s been going off to the pub lately. I mean, he might be home. If not, my sisters and brother will be there. They’re been staying over the past few days.” She said with a grin, squeezing his hand as they walked.

He grinned at her, happy she hadn’t rejected the idea. “Well I mean…we can hang out like we did and you know…forget what happened.” He moved back and hopped over the fence. “So, what is there to do in this town?”
“I’d love that. Really. I’ve been trying to forget since it happened,” she said with a weak smile, looking towards the ground, and then back up as he leaped over the fence. “There isn’t much to do, it is either come to the park or sit at home and watch the telly,” she replied with a laugh. “There’s also the option of taking a walk somewhere,” she added with a grin. “We can do whatever you want to do,”

Ben just smiled at her, her face lit up as she laughed and he cocked his head to one side, feeling more comfortable than he’d thought he would. “You’re not too hard to find.” He straightened up and glanced around. “Nice town… I’ve..I;ve missed you too.” He cleared hi throat. “I know I wasn’t exactly forgiving.. but..” he sighed. “I want us to be.. like we were.” he looked up sheepishly.
“My mystique is gone! You found me!” she said with a laugh. “Nice town if you like small and quiet,” she said with a smile, brushing her hair back. “Wh-What?” she asked, cocking her head to the side. “You…You want to g-get back together?” she asked, her face blushing. “I…I want that too. I want to be like we were. I missed having someone to talk to, I missed having…you,” she said as another blush went across her cheeks.

Seeing Cas on that last day before they broke for summer had jolted a little sense into him. Everyone made mistakes. Even beautiful people, wonderful people. It had hurt, but falling over hurt and he didnt stop walking just because the ground had tripped him. He spent a week finding out exactly where Dorcas Meadows lived, nerves contsantly vibrating through him as he planned his way. It was a tuesday and it was breezy as Ben apparated to the outskirts of the small town, walking down the mainstreet trying to take it all in. You don’t even know what you’re going to say, he thought, heart beating. Her house was down the other end of- Gods. A head of flame red hair caught his eye from across the road. Cas sat swinging solemnly on a swing in the small park. Ben took in a breath and walked slowly over, leaning his arms on the fence surrounding the park, watching her with a small smile. This had been a good idea.
As Cas was sitting on the swing, she turned and saw Ben leaning on the fence watching her. She laughed as she saw him. “Ben, what…what are you doing here? I thought you were going to Bulgaria and doing other impressive things?” she asked with a grin as she got off the swing. Her heart began to beat out of her chest; she approached the gate and walked slowly over to him, smoothing out her dress as she did so. “How’d you find me? I mean, this place isn’t one that many people can find. Granted, you probably used magic,” she said as a blush crossed her cheeks. “Well, how’ve you been? I’ve missed you, a lot actually. There isn’t anyone in this town to talk to, and there are only so many books I can read. And so many times I can clean my entire house,” she said with a laugh.

Dorcas was resting inside her house, watching her niece and nephew running around in circles for hours. Once they calmed themselves down for their nap; and her father had returned from running errands, she decided to take a walk into town. She wandered the cobblestone covered street, watching as children were running by. She watched as some of her old school friends were walking up the other side of the road. They didn’t recognize her anymore, she had grown up. More ways than others, but it didn’t matter. As she reached the center of town, she sat on one of the swings in the park. The park was empty, peaceful. She sat on the swing, pumping her legs to go higher and higher, minding her skirt because of the heavy wind that was blowing. She may have been 17 years old, but she loved to escape back to her childish ways. After all, she had been surrounded by children since summer had begun. As the swing took its natural stop, she remained seated, rocking herself back and forth and side to side on the black swing.

He smiled at her, imagining her out in the sun on a rug…blue sky and a smile on her face that matched the sunrise perfectly. Gods Ben, just say you’re sorry for being so cold. Say it. “H-have a good summer cas..” Coward.
Cas smiled as he smiled. Something about his smile made her feel better. She missed him terribly, but she wasn’t going to say something, it wasn’t her place. It was his decision to make, not hers. “Have a wonderful summer too Ben, I’ll see you next year,” she added with a grin.
Ben nodded, his mouth a little dry. “Yeah n-next year.” he started to walk away but stopped and turned back quickly. “CasBeCareful..” he blurted out and bit his lip. “Just..yeah. you know what I mean.”

He was trying to organise his thoughts but her hair was falling around er shoulders and across her face so beautifully that he couldn’t think straight. “Hmm? oh..uh..I’m going t-to Bulgaria with dad for a w-week. Nothing exciting.” he shrugged. “Where will you b-be…”
“Bulgaria? That sounds much cooler than you make it seem. I mean, that’s pretty awesome.” she said with a laugh. “I’m going to be home for the summer, not doing anything really. I’m probably going to spend my summer reading and babysitting,” she replied with another laugh. “I’d much rather go to Bulgaria or somewhere cool,” she added with a smile.
